The job holder will be responsible for driving the strategic network of new and existing supplier propositions across the business and wider group. As part of the role the individual will also own the strategic approach for the management and direction of the project handover process into the Project Delivery Team to ensure smooth transition and delivery of all assets on time and to standard. This includes influencing and leading multiple branded projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully understand and lead the strategy to allow Commercial and the brands bring to market world class shopping experiences
  • Lead complex scopes of works for Branded projects
  • Responsible for formulating the Brand/Commercial strategy in to a brief that allows Design services to have clarity and consistency in order to meet expectations
  • Lead the project from conception, navigating all internal and external processes up to and including the RDG Approve stage
  • Work closely with other internal functions for the benefit of the project such as Macro and Micro space. Retail Marketing, Retail Operations, GNFR, Information Systems, InfoSec
  • Accountable for leading multiple projects including holding all meetings (initiation, planning, progress and PIR closure) through all stages of the project
  • Maintain a database of all supplier collateral, assets and life cycle to facilitate annual Space-mix and Commercial budgeting cycles
  • Report to the Head of Format & Commercial Initiatives and work closely with Design, Format, Commercial, Retail, GNFR and IS to develop operational benchmarks for future store compliance
  • Responsible for the successful planning of numerous projects up to an annual value of (circa) 40M
  • Maximising commercial opportunity via programme alignment and feasibility for concessions
  • Building supplier relationships to facilitate annual negotiations
  • Lead the coordination of activity across functions and business units to enable the delivery of the business trading strategy revenue goals
  • Build strong working relationships with some of the key influential brands to ensure we can be first to market to deliver exciting and leading instore experiences
  • Work closely with the Design Account function to drive profitability of each supplier brand account to deliver your periodic and annual revenue opportunities
  • Document and follow a clear 'Ways of working' procedure with the following key business functions: Commercial / Retail Ops / Marketing and Property
  • Accountable to provide clear periodic dash-board updates for Senior Exec to illustrate Commercial Initiative progress

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Financial and Customer Business Plan
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of writing reports and presenting within senior forums as well as liaising with other employees and functions
  • Knowledge of the Financial and Customer Business Plan and the ability to align development projects to the business strategy
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to critique analysis undertaken by others and challenge assumptions
  • Highly organised with good planning skills to ensure delivery of necessary activities to achieve new store openings
  • Strong commercial awareness and appreciation of customer needs to ensure all negotiations benefit the Group position and the customer experience
  • Collaborative style ensuring all stake holders are engaged / consulted throughout the end to end project cycle
  • Responsible to manage project meetings across Retail and Commercial aligned to project requirements
