Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Training & Supervision

The trainees will undertake a postgraduate diploma training for 1 year, hosted by Kings College London (KCL) for CWP and UCL for CBT.

The CWP trainees will be trained over the course of a year to offer brief, focused evidence- based interventions in the form of low intensity support and guided self-help to young people who demonstrate mild/moderate:
• Anxiety (primary and secondary school age)
• Low mood (adolescents)
• Common behavioural difficulties (working with parents for under 8s)

The CBT trainees will be trained in high intensity evidenced based interventions for anxiety difficulties and low mood.

During the first term, the trainees will spend more time at the University training, and more days will be allocated to work within their teams as the year progresses to put their skills into practice under close supervision. To properly support and supervise the expanding psychological workforce, we are seeking to recruit a Band 8a Clinical Supervisor to provide intense supervision and support for the trainees within our service. The Supervisor will work closely with our service heads and leads across our 4 areas (Barking & Dagenham, Havering. Redbridge and Waltham Forest) to support the trainees to meet their training requirements, further development and service needs.

Who are we seeking?

We are looking to recruit experienced, enthusiastic senior clinician/supervisor with high CBT skills who is passionate about the success of the CWP and CBT programme, delivering high quality and evidence based low-intensity interventions and ensuring that outcomes are captured and fed back into our clinical work. New supervisors coming into these roles will be expected to access a Post Graduate Certificate in CYP-IAPT Supervision (CWP/CBT) course. This training starts in January 2025 and will be fully funded.
