Job Overview:
Southwark CAMHS is seeking an innovative senior Clinical Specialist/Practitioner Psychologist to lead our specialist trauma service, the Hope Project. The post-holder will lead a small team providing evidence-based intervention for children and young people with PTSD. The team includes a CBT therapist and a new, innovative role linked to adult services and providing intervention to parents of children seen within the team. The post also involves supervision, consultation and training to the wider service regarding working with trauma. The service has strong links with CAMHS National and Specialist trauma services and with Southwark's Children's Services.
We recognise that working with trauma is highly emotionally demanding; for this reason we anticipate that approximately 60% of the post-holder's time will be spent within the Hope Project, with the remaining time allocated according to service need and post-holder's experience and skills. We will also consider candidates who wish to work part-time (minimum 22.5 hours per week).

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership for the Hope Project and provide consultation, supervision and training to the wider team as well as supervision within the team. They will provide direct assessment and evidence-based treatment to children and young people referred to the team. They will lead on monitoring access and outcomes and service evaluation and development.
You will need to have experience of working with young people with PTSD, and to have training and experience in providing evidence-based therapies for this population. Southwark CAMHS is in the early stages of implementing the Thrive model, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to this wider service development. About us
Hope Project
The Hope Project is an established specialist trauma service within Southwark CAMHS. In addition to the clinical lead role, there are two part-time CBT therapists, one Clinical Psychologist (working with parents) and access to Psychiatry and support from the service's Assistant Psychologists for evaluation and service development.

The Southwark Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services clinical teams comprise of staff from a variety of disciplines and include; psychiatry, psychology, nursing, family therapy, arts psychotherapies, child psychotherapy, occupational therapy and social work. The service is currently working towards implementing Thrive principles in practice.

- Entry-level qualification: appropriately registered Clinical/Educational/Counselling Psychologist, Systemic Family Therapist, Social Worker, Child Psychotherapist, Arts Psychotherapist, Nurse, Occupational Therapist
- Training in a specialised area of psychological practice (this would usually be at least one evidence-based therapy for PTSD)
- Completed training course in clinical supervision
- Evidence of continuing professional development as required by relevant Professional body
