Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse -currently registered with NMC
• Degree in healthcare subject or equivalent level of experience

Desirable criteria

• Mentorship training
• Good Clinical Practice certificate

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Understanding of clinical research
• Knowledge of ICH- Good Clinical Practice regulations relating to clinical research

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of clinical and research governance
• Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures

Experience

Essential criteria

• Significant experience working in high-acuity patient care settings.
• Proven experience of working to deadlines
• Proven experience of dealing with a busy workload
• Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
• Evidence of CPD
• Planning/organising workload

Desirable criteria

• Data management experience
• Audit experience
• Experience in clinical research
• Additional specialist training/experience in Emergency Medicine/ Critical Care/ Anaesthesia

Skills

Essential criteria

• Wide range of clinical skills, including venepuncture
• Excellent communication skills
• Awareness and respect for confidentially
• Knowledge of electronic patient record system.
• Demonstrable IT skills including email and Microsoft office programs (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Desirable criteria

• Clinical experience in Emergency Medicine/ Critical Care/ Anaesthesia
• Clinical Research nursing experience
• Evidence of IT training Advanced use of spreadsheets
• Knowledge of information governance
• Good presentation skills
• Ability to demonstrate people management
