Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - currently registered with the NMC
- Degree in healthcare subject or equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship training
- Post graduate course
- Additional specialist training
- Good Clinical Practice(GCP)
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working in a clinical environment within NHS
- Proven experience of working to deadlines
- Proven experience of dealing with a heavy workload
- Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
- Data management experience
- Audit experience
- Previous experience in clinical research
- Experience in Opthalmology
- Experience of using Electronic patient records
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of clinical research
- Clinical practice regulations relating to clinical research
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of clinical and research governance
- Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures
- Knowledge of information governance
- ICH-GCP
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication
- Awareness and respect for confidentiality
- Demonstrate IT skills including email and Microsoft office programs (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook)
- Able to Work flexibly around service needs
- Wide range of clinical skills, including venepuncture
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of IT training
- Advanced use of spreadsheets
