Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS are excited to be introducing 2 development posts for recently qualified Clinical Psychologists or Clinical Psychologists with post-registration experience who would like to develop competencies to carry out the role of a Senior Clinical Psychologist within East CAMHS. Relocation packages are available.

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologists who will be supported to further develop our highly regarded service. On commencing in post, successful applicants will have a learning development plan and agree a target timescale of between 6 months and 2 years for completion, depending on current skills and experience. An experienced supervisor will oversee and support your development. Promotion to a substantive 8a post will be achieved on fulfilling required competencies.

We are proud of our commitment to supporting continuing professional development for our team and have recently supported and funded clinicians to attend training in a range of interventions relevant to their role including Solution Focused training, Motivational Interviewing, VIG, IPT-A, CBT, CBT-TF, DBT, Family Therapy and Child Psychotherapy. Regular in-service training takes place, alongside weekly peer case discussions, in addition to MDT team meetings. There is scope for working within Early Intervention and Prevention, Early Years, Eating Disorders (including Family Based Treatment), DBT, First Episode Psychosis and with care experienced children.

Main duties of the job

Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS offers a 0-18 service to children, young people and families. We provide an extensive offer to our local community including significant early intervention and prevention services, unscheduled care, an Early Years 0-7 service and a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions. We are a dynamic and committed multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapists, Child Looked After and CAMHS Practitioners with a range of core professional backgrounds and Assistant Psychologists. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships. We also have excellent links with the Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme and provide regular placements and training.

Post holders will undertake a range of assessments and provide Care Co-Ordination and appropriate therapeutic interventions. They will provide consultation to multi-agency professionals and families and deliver training. Leadership and service development will be a part of this role, alongside multi-agency working.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria

• Honours Degree in Psychology
• Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
• Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or for those trained overseas), as accredited by the British Psychological Society
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Desirable criteria

• Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology

Experience
Essential criteria

• Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills
• Demonstration of further specialist training / experience through having received extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Head of Clinical Psychology Services

Desirable criteria

• Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
