- Supporting and providing the clinical pharmacy service to the UEC directorate, and the wider Medicine Division where necessary.
- Actively participating in consultant-led ward rounds to promote and support medicines optimisation, antimicrobial stewardship and effective discharge planning.
- Involvement in education and training of a variety of healthcare professionals including diploma & pre-registration pharmacists, undergraduates and trainee advanced nurse practitioners.
- Participate in back-up senior on-call rota supporting junior pharmacists
Whilst this post is commissioned to be full time (equivalent of 37.5 hours per week) we would welcome applications from those wanting a better work life balance. Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered with GPhC
- Post-graduate diploma/MSc in clinical pharmacy or working towards this or equivalent experience
- B.Pharm/BSc (Pharmacy) or MPharm
Desirable criteria
- Qualified as an independent prescriber
- Related postgraduate qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad knowledge base of clinical areas
- Experience of day to day supervision and assisting in training of trainee pharmacists and/or technicians.
- Experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting
- Wide previous experience (post registration) of clinical pharmacy
Desirable criteria
- Experience in undertaking, supervising and reporting/presenting audit/research work at local (Trust) level
- Evidence of research or project work
Communication & relationships
Essential criteria
- Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams
- Good communication skills with MDT members and own profession
- Able to defend opinions in a constructive manner when challenged
Desirable criteria
- Teaching skills
Analytical and Judgement skill
Essential criteria
- Able to analyse patient specific data to advise on therapy management
- Able to assess and minimise the risk in medication process
- Critical evaluation of literature and literature searching skills for analysing, interpreting medicines information, production issues, drug therapy decisions and patient information

- Medicine Information skills
- Experience of analysing expenditure
Planning and organisation skills
