An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust pharmacy team. The position will be based at Basildon site, where you will be part of an innovative team, and be involved in many exciting projects to promote and deliver high quality clinical service to our patients with a focus on haematology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious pharmacist with excellent clinical knowledge and organisational skills. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary teams located at the three sites in Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This will be a great opportunity to develop your clinical leadership role and play an active part in change management projects.

Main duties of the job
- Lead and develop the Clinical Pharmacy Service provided to the
haematology-oncology speciality, in line with objectives set Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Services. - Responsible for the ongoing management, training, and testing of chemotherapy electronic prescribing system (chemocare) and acting as main point of contact to resolve issues related to the system.
- Pharmacy lead for all cancer services peer review work
- Provide specialist input into the management and dispensing of clinical trials in Haematology & Oncology.
- Manage staff in order to ensure the effective operation of the Services
- Develop your existing role as an independent prescriber, or working towards this goal

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent Post-graduate qualification
Desirable criteria
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Independent Prescriber
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive relevant pharmacy experience including providing a clinical pharmacy service to a variety of specialities including Haematology
- Line management experience
- Significant relevant post registration experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in teaching and training of Pharmacy and MDT staff
- Financial awareness regarding the management of drug budgets
- Familiar with Chemocare
