Person specification

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent in Perfusion Science
  • Accredited by the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Professional Registration with College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists Of Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Basic understanding of statistics.
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development.

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Advanced Training in Perfusion Techniques
  • Management qualification
  • Leadership qualification.

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Masters level knowledge of routine and specialised clinical techniques
  • Deliver specialist training to the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team where appropriate
  • Knowledge of clinical hazards & emergency procedures
  • Up-to-date with latest developments

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Advanced Training in Perfusion Techniques
  • Management qualification
  • Leadership qualification

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria

  • IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point and Access, Hospital and perfusion databases
  • Attention to detail.
  • Accuracy.
  • Able to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team.
  • Able to maintain intense levels of concentration.
  • Able to interact with patients and their relatives where necessary
  • Accountable for own professional action
