An exciting opportunity has arisen on Dermatology for a full time senior clinical support worker to join our up and coming team.

If you are a passionate person whom thrives from giving excellent patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience this is the position for you.

Dermatology is an 8 inpatient unit for many patients that suffer with a wide range of Dermatology conditions. Our aim is to provide the best patient cantered care and continue to provide amazing services such as daycare, outpatient and inpatient all under the same building.

In addition to the inpatients we have multiple daycare patients coming in through out the day 8am - 8pm

We are open Monday - Friday for inpatient services and daycare at the weekend.

Our band 3s will have the opportunity to work in a ward and clinical setting and rotate through these to keep up skills in different areas.

Our band 3 also assists in regular clinics on VCH site on a monday morning on a rotation with other band 3.

Main duties of the job

  • Report any conditional changes of the child, which are causing concern to the parents/carer and/or trained nurse.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
  • Undertake transfer and escort of the dependent child if appropriate.
  • Inform the trained nurse if the delegated tasks are beyond the post-holder's level of skill.
  • Contribute to the development of services and ensure the effective and efficient use of resources, notifying the Team Leader of any equipment difficulties.
  • Manage and maintain equipment as appropriate within Wirral NHS guidelines.
  • Participate in patient and public involvement activities.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 in a related subject or NVQ Level 2 with significant experience.
  • Care Certificate or completion of Care Certificate in post.
  • Completed clinical competencies for clinical tasks and procedures as appropriate.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in the NHS

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
