Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Urology (Kidney Care) to commence from 17 July 2023 until 30 September 2024 at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Addenbrooke's Hospital is also one of the highest volume kidney cancer surgical centres in the UK, with expertise in the management of small renal masses with open and partial nephrectomies, larger tumours through laparoscopic and open radical nephrectomies, and locally advanced disease in the form of IVC thrombectomy. In addition, there is close interdisciplinary team working between Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Clinical Genetics and Histopathology. Research is embedded within the patient pathway, with the majority of our patients involved in biobanking, surgical, neo-adjuvant or adjuvant trials. Outputs from these trials are frequently presented in high impact journals and international conferences.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the post is to provide peri/post CCT training and competencies in the surgical management of kidney cancer, experience in subspecialist clinics, and engagement in high-impact translational research.
The post-holder will participate in a middle grade, non-resident 1 in 9 on-call rota.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification and have:
- MRCS or equivalent qualification.
- FRCS (Urol/FEBU) or equivalent.
- Completed a minimum of four years Specialty Registrar or equivalent training in Urology in the UK or equivalent.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.
