Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Each of the Senior Clinical Fellows will be allocated to one of the 8
Consultants and will remain so for the duration of the post, subject to the
needs of the service. Although the Specialist Registrars & Senior Clinical
Fellows will have a principal responsibility for one Consultant's patients, they will of course be expected (by arrangement) to cover for each other and will also assume responsibility to other Consultants should the need arise.
The Senior Clinical Fellows will be expected to attend ward rounds and
operating sessions as determined by their Consultants and will also be
expected to assist at Orthopaedic and Trauma Clinics. The Senior Clinical
Fellow will be permitted to operate under supervision according to their
experience. This post is also suitable for experienced senior surgeons and
opportunities will be made available for those with more experience.
When on duty for Trauma and Orthopaedics emergencies (or in the
unavoidable absence of a colleague who should be on duty) they will attend
patients in the A & E Department and determine the initial treatment of these patients whether admitted to hospital or not.
