Dr Sehmi will also be pleased to arrange informal visits to the hospital.

Dr Niall Keenan is the Divisional Director for Medicine and Kira Martin is the Divisional General Manager. Dr Michael Koa Wing is the Lead Consultant for Cardiology

There are close working relationships with consultant colleagues at Imperial College NHS Trust and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust, with eight Cardiology consultants undertaking contracted sessions at surgical centres. There are weekly multidisciplinary joint cardiac / cardiothoracic meetings with cardiac surgeons from Hammersmith and Harefield Hospitals. These cardiac surgeons see outpatients at WGH.

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Completion of core medical training or equivalent
  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice

Desirable criteria

  • MRCP

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Recognition and basic management of common acute and chronic cardiac presentations
  • ECG interpretation

Desirable criteria

  • Echo BSE accreditation

Experience

Essential criteria

  • General medical specialities (respiratory/ cardiology/ renal/ ITU etc) at CMT level
