Essential criteria
- Relevant postgraduate MRCS/FRCS or equivalent
Registration
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
- Excellent all round experience of DGH work
- Minimum of 2 year's experience in general/plastic surgery at registrar level
Clinical Effectiveness
Essential criteria
- Understand the principles of audits
Desirable criteria
- Experience of audits
Teaching
Essential criteria
- Interest in and ability to contribute to teaching and learning of more junior doctors and medical students
Desirable criteria
- Publications and presentations
Clinical Governance
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles and elements of clinical governance
Personnel Skills
Essential criteria
- Flexible attitude, team player with good management skills
- Capacity to manage acute situations under pressure, demonstrate imitative and resilience to cope with changing circumstances
