Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    • The post holder must be medically qualified and maintain GMC specialist registration.
    • To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
    • To provide the highest quality of care to patients.
    • To ensure prompt attendance at all clinical and non-clinical duties.
    • To liaise with clinical colleagues and across the multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant MDTs.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration and License to practice
  • Full MRCP (Applicants with MRCP part 1 or 2 written or evidence of recent PACES examination will be considered)
  • Advanced Life Support Provider

Desirable criteria

  • Advanced Life Support Instructor

Skills and knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working as a Medical Registrar; or applicants who have completed Core Medical Training (CMT) / Internal Medical Training (IMT) 1 and 2 will be considered
  • General medicine and acute medicine experience
  • Organisational skills

  • Computer skills and IT literacy
  • Leadership and teaching experience
