The General Surgery Department at West Middlesex University Hospital is dedicated to teaching and training the junior medical staff including medical students from Imperial College.

Qualifications and Training:
Essential criteria
- MRCS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full GMC registration
Knowledge & experience
Essential criteria
- Should have substantial full-time hospital service in the SHO or a higher grade since first obtaining full or limited registration
- General Surgery, especially emergency surgery experience.
- Experience of audit and research
- Demonstration of keeping up to date with knowledge
- Evidence of training in management skills
Desirable criteria
- Additional experience in breast, colorectal and vascular surgery
- Understanding of the NHS organisation
Personal qualities:
Essential criteria
- Ability to change, adapt and respond to changing circumstances
- Commitment to work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Willingness to share non- clinical tasks
- Commitment to the achievement of Government and Trust targets, e.g. waiting times
