Job overview
We are inviting applications to Senior Clinical Fellow posts in the Critical Care department at King's College Hospital (the department covers both the Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital sites).
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience of working in a large tertiary critical care department under the mentorship of consultants with a range of tertiary hospital sub specialist interests
(including, but not limited to: major trauma; neurology and neurosurgery; cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery; haematology including haemoncology.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will involve performing daily reviews on ICU patients and present findings on the MDT ward round in conjunction with the consultant support the clinical decision making of junior medical and nursing staff as the senior member of the critical care team.
Review critically unwell patients outside of critical care- Admit, stabilise and formulate an initial management plan for critically unwell adults
Completely initiate ventilation, use vasopressors, insert CVC and arterial lines and be able to transfer the critically unwell patient.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registerable medical qualification.
Desirable criteria
- [MRCP] or equivalent.
Professional/Statutory Registration
Essential criteria
- Full registration with GMC/GDC with License to Practice at time of appointment
Previous Experiencce
Essential criteria
- At least 1 year of working within critical care OR 6 months working within critical care and 3 years working within an acute medical specialty (anaesthesia, emergency medicine, acute medicine, internal medicine specialties)
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of special commitment to critical care
- Demonstrable research experience
- Demonstrable teaching experience
- Experience of working within the NHS
Communication
Essential criteria
- Effective communicator, able to work in a close-knit team and co-operate with all medical and paramedical staff.

- ATLS
