Person specification

Educational Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • HNC / HTEC / HND / Foundation Degree in electronics, plus specialist knowledge
  • Short courses/equivalent training/experience

Desirable criteria

  • Professional Electronics knowledge through B Eng or equivalent, plus specialist knowledge

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Servicing - experienced in maintaining a broad range of medical equipment
  • Knowledge of medical device management standards.
  • Knowledge of work planning and implementation of projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of structured training
  • Skills in either electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering, or a combination
  • Skills in analysing and diagnosing faults in complex equipment
  • Excellent communications skills, good planning and organisational skills, analytical skills
  • Working within a Quality Management System.
  • Able to produce clear written records and documentation
  • Computerised inventories, Microsoft office apps (word, excel, outlook)

Desirable criteria

  • Skills within electronic workshop environment
  • Technical Management
  • Customer focus and interaction

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
