Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide Clinical technical support through carrying out planned preventative maintenance, repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on a range of medical equipment.

To provide administrative support to the team including updating job and device records in the medical equipment management database, supporting procurement and the associated record keeping and administering the calibration of test equipment.

To adopt and promote a customer-focused culture, understanding customer requirements and ensuring that communication is timely and effectively

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Medical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification and experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development e.g. attendance at training courses (manufacturers and specialist)

Desirable criteria

  • Member of Professional Organisation

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant relevant experience within an EBME department
  • Significant planned and corrective experience on: Anaesthesia Units , Ventilators, Electro surgery , Neonatal Incubators, Patient Monitoring Equipment, Defibrillators, Infusion Devices, Suction Units, Endoscopy stack systems

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in managing and supervising staff and others.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of relevant Medical Devcies regulation and guidelines
