An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical CAMHS Practitioner within the Eating Disorder team.

A Senior Clinical CAMHS Practitioner for Eating Disorders (East CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway Lead role) has been developed as part of the Mental Health improvement agenda as we continue to develop CYP eating disorders services regionally and nationally.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate and person-centred individual; adopting an inclusive approach to support people with an Eating Disorder.

The Senior Clinical CAMHS Practitioner will support Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS Specialist Eating Disorder (SPEED) service by determining clinical diagnosis and treatments indicated through assessment which will include providing outreach work to patients who may find it hard to attend clinics and provide support at times of transition between services.

This post will form part of a strong multi-disciplinary team and will have robust career development and CPD opportunities in order to ensure that we provide the highest quality, contemporary, evidence-based care working with young people.

The successful candidate must be able to practice autonomously and have the freedom to exercise judgement about actions, in turn accepting responsibility and being held to account for them ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered to Children & Young People with an Eating Disorder.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria

  • Registered Mental health or learning Disability nurse, Social Worker, Occupational therapist, Clinical Psychologist with HCP registration or systemic psychotherapist with UKCP registration'
  • Clinical Masters Degree or equivalent educational or experience indicating performance at masters level
  • Formal additional therapeutic qualification

Desirable criteria

  • Post-graduate management qualification

Experience
Essential criteria

  • Substantial relevant experience in a clinical post within Eating disorders/ and or CAMHS
  • Track record of significant continuous professional development
  • Leadership development/training Developing higher levels of autonomy
  • Assessing and managing risk
  • Developing therapeutic interventions to improve service user outcomes
  • Service user focus/public involvement

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with a range of mental health problems / presentations.

Knowledge
Essential criteria

  • Acts in a way that is consistent with legislation, policies and procedures and abide by the BCUHB Health and Safety policies
  • Good knowledge and experience of risk and clinical governance
  • Knowledge of Equal Opportunity policies and procedures
