Overview
This role will manage, drive and own the relationship between the client and the business with a view to achieving client satisfaction and revenue targets.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Act as the Lead Relationship Manager for a key strategic client, developing and owning multi-level relationships with key stakeholders including key decision makers and C suite executives.
- Convert strategic objectives into tangible projects/products/services and work with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery within agreed timelines, providing regular updates to the Head of Client Partnerships and wider Senior Leadership team.
- Maintain and develop revenue (in line with targets) through the generation of contractual revenue streams, contract variations and new products and service opportunities.
- Actively identify opportunities to further strengthen the relationship between the client and the business.
- Act as the primary business representative to the client, ensuring clear communication from a service, regulatory and commercial perspective, working in partnership with Operational teams, as required.
- Gain a deep understanding of the client's growth targets and provide input on how MUFG can support and add value.
- Identify innovative solutions and initiatives to help implement client requirements and work with internal stakeholders to deliver.
- Advocate for the client by thoroughly understanding their objectives and ensuring efforts are aligned to meet their goals.
- Lead and deliver on key MUFG initiatives.
Operational Management
- Own the client relationship internally; working with internal departments to ensure smooth running of the client account.
- Play a pivotal role in client meetings - Chair quarterly Business Review meetings, operational reviews, and due diligence meetings.
- Lead on discussions and work related to Legal contract updates and ensure the client account is serviced in line contractual agreements.
- Actively manage key internal relationships to ensure delivery of high-quality services.
- Ensure all services are being delivered as outlined in the relevant Service Level Agreement and work with internal stake holders to manage client issues to resolution.
- Drive accountability within all areas of the business to deliver required results.
- Act as a point of contact and escalation.
- Proactively identify and action opportunities for process improvement.
- Prepare and present business cases to internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend and, where appropriate, present to relevant internal and external Boards, Forums and Industry events on both strategic and operational matters.
People Leadership
- Manage, drive and own critical client relationships with a view to achieving client satisfaction and revenue targets.
- Act as a role model within the team and provide support to team members, as and when required.
- Contribute to the development of the team by actively participating in team meetings, business forums/committees and by sharing information.
Governance & Risk
- Define and implement strategies to ensure profitability of the Client account.
- Keep the CRM updated with key client information and activities, including Fee-For-Service pipeline.
- Create and maintain procedures for key processes within the Client Partnerships team and ensure these are stored centrally.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of pension legislation and trends.
- Ensure compliance to HMRC, the Pension Regulator and any other relevant bodies.

Experience & Personal Attributes
- 10+ years experience in the Finance industry in client facing roles. 3 + years proven experience managing strategic client relationships.
- Exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience in negotiating and influencing stakeholders.
- Sound judgment and commercial decision making skills.
- Ability to market and promote products and services.
- Delivery / outcome focused.
- Budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Working knowledge of Pension products and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Solid logic and analytical skills.
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Power point).
- Strong problem solving capability.
- PMI qualifications to Level 4 or Diploma desirable.
- Knowledge of compliance and legislation applicable to Pensions.
