Senior Client Listening and Intelligence Manager
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
We're looking for an experienced client-facing business development professional to join us as a Senior Client Listening and Intelligence Manager. Working as part of our International Pitch Team, you'll work at the intersection between client relationship management, business development, and pitch strategy. You'll lead and evolve the firm's client listening programme, weaving client insights and strategic research into every part of the pitch lifecycle to drive wins and deepen client relationships. You will be responsible for gathering, curating and analysing client and market data to ensure that we deliver excellent and continuously improving client service and insight-led, tailored and winning proposals, in line with the firm's 5-year strategy.
Sitting within our Marketing and Business Development function, our International Pitch Team's mission is really simple; we are here to help the firm to win some of the most exciting opportunities in the legal market. You'll be working with colleagues who have won some very big contracts - both inside and outside of the legal industry - and with senior stakeholders across the firm, to set the strategy and shape the tactics to win new work and strengthen and deepen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and manage the firm's client listening programme, including pre-call calls, post-pitch debriefs, post-matter interviews, and strategic client interviews.
- Conduct in-person interviews with key clients to gather feedback on service delivery, expectations, and future needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve our client offering, evaluating feedback and survey data to identify strengths, weaknesses and trends.
- Lead client and market research activities and use insights from client listening to inform pitch strategy and positioning (on specific opportunities as well as at a sector and practice level).
- Collaborate with the Head of Pitch, BD, and sector leads to identify strategic opportunities and shape pursuit plans.
- Maintain a central repository of client feedback, pitch outcomes, and strategic insights, sharing this information where appropriate with senior stakeholders.
- Use data to inform account management, pitch strategy, and client development planning, working closely with BD heads and senior partners.
- Support the Pitch Team's internal communication strategy to share knowledge, best-practice and case studies with the wider firm.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience managing a client listening programme in a legal or professional services environment.
- Proven senior-level BD experience in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong interviewing skills and ability to engage senior client stakeholders.
- Experience in client research, strategic planning, and business development.
- Familiarity with pitch processes and pursuit strategy, ideally within a law firm.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

The main responsibilities of this role are outlined above; however, this description is not exhaustive, and the job holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department.
