Salary: £50,000- .£55,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We are seeking a Site Operations Duty Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Sizewell C (SZC) construction site. This is a unique opportunity to be a pivotal player in the delivery of a new nuclear power plant, supporting a greener future.

The Role

Based on site at SZC, you'll be part of a team of Duty Managers providing a 24/7/365 first response for any on site operational issues as and when they arise.

This role requires to work 12-hour continental shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

Incident Control: Lead as the Incident Controller for site roads and infrastructure, ensuring swift response to any operational issues.

Operational Efficiency: Maintain and monitor the Green Route, White Spaces, and platform interfaces in line with our traffic management and pedestrian protection procedures.

Emergency Preparedness: Represent site operations in emergency situations, focusing on broader site impacts.

Contractor Oversight: Manage and control contractor activities, especially outside of normal working hours.

Environmental Monitoring: Oversee road sweeping, waste disposal, noise, dust, and other environmental factors.

24/7 Site Support: Ensure continuous operational capability and respond to unplanned works due to system failures.

Team Integration: Work closely with subcontractors, building mutual trust and effective working relationships.

Shift Management: Produce shift briefings, daily records, and ensure seamless handovers.

Essential Skills:

Proven experience in incident control and emergency response.

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and their practical applications.

Ability to work independently and share expertise with the team.

Experience managing logistical information, HGV movements and databases.

Commitment to personal development and learning.

Desirable:

Experience in the construction sector, particularly mega projects.

Qualifications in logistics or traffic management.

Industry-related qualifications or extensive relevant work experience.

First Aid and Health and Safety qualifications.
