Senior Claims Handler (French P&C) - London [Hybrid 2 days office]

We are Comprea leading legacy specialist with over 30 years of experience in the acquisition and management of discontinued and legacy non-life insurance and reinsurance business.

As our claims team continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Claims Handler, responsible for providing technical oversight for a portfolio of P&C claims, predominantly in France, working in close collaboration with the TPA's who are appointed to handle this book, dealing with claims above DA level. You will proactively manage larger, more complex P&C claims through to settlement and within company handling guidelines, applying your expert knowledge, negotiation skills and experience.

As a Senior Claims Handler you will provide support and guidance, setting a positive example to less experienced team members, and will act as a senior support for the claims leadership team. You will help with the assessment of risks attached to new deals, and the development and delivery of strategic approaches to achieve claims savings, along with identifying and reporting on new trends or changes in the behaviour of a claims portfolio.

Responsibilities
• to proactively handle allocated claims to a high standard, including overall assessment of losses and reserves, and negotiation with counterparties to achieve timely settlements, responsible for managing large, complex, and disputed claims on behalf of the claims team
• effective management of external service providers, to include TPA's, ensuring they are acting in the best interests of Compre Group
• identification and execution of commutation and buy back opportunities, including the negotiation of deals with counterparties
• to gain a good understanding of new accounts upon acquisition, delivering against opportunities identified in due diligence.

Candidate requirements
• excellent level of claims handling technical experience and knowledge, with a solid understanding of P&C claims
• strong negotiation skills, with experience in negotiating complex issues with counterparties, including the ability to lead formal mediations, resulting in successful settlements
• ability to develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• highly proficient in spoken and written English and French.
