Senior Civils Manager - Iver
Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Senior Civil Operations Manager for a large power and utilities contractor. Role will be based in Iver and will suit a candidate with strong utilities and reinstatement works.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and coordinate civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project strategies, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and performance against established plans.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, site managers, subcontractors, and support staff.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and provide guidance and support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ensure that all work meets required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections and audits.
- Address any non-conformities and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders as required.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage financial resources effectively.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management review.
- Administer contracts, including tendering processes, negotiation, and contract management.
- Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and disputes are resolved promptly.
- Manage variations and claims in accordance with contract terms.
Experience/qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Civils Manager, Leading a team of 5 direct reports and in excess of 30 teams
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
- Commercial acumen and experience in contract management and cost control.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
