Civil / Infrastructure Engineer

Role Context:

As Civil / Infrastructure Engineer, you will join the Civil, Structural & Architectural Group within Worley to work on the infrastructure of projects for a range of clients across the entire spectrum of energy, from existing oil and gas operators, re-purposing of existing infrastructure through carbon capture and electrification.

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaged engineers, willing to take on a technically challenging role with plenty of scope to carve out their own niche within the team. An ability to challenge the norm, create novel solutions and a desire to be involved in a wide range of potential workscope's is required.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with remote working and occasional visits to the office.

You'll be:

  • Planning and prioritising own work and that of more junior staff so that parallel activities are all completed in a timely manner
  • ensuring that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental, and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
  • carrying out engineering calculations and check the work of more junior staff to deliver a quality functional input to projects
  • proactively generating value adding options within projects to offer to clients to improve both the chance of winning work and satisfaction with completed and ongoing work
  • providing functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole
  • keeping abreast of current technology so that technical input to projects takes account of new developments.

You'll have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or extensive direct experience in infrastructure design
  • familiarity with the requirements of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Sewers for Adoption.
  • a good working knowledge of Microdrainage, Causeway PDS and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in performing relevant analysis types using recognised industry software to current codes and standards
  • effective technical and practical engineering skills, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
  • ability to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • ability to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
