Our Operator client are recruiting for a Control & Instrument Support Engineer to join the team in Aberdeen in supporting Operations & Maintenance teams for offshore assets.

Key Responsibilities and background:

• Primary focus on supporting company operations support across various directorates as required.
• Ensure application of company procedures and policies
• Support/Deliver engineering improvement plans
• Input to and management of Production loss and root cause analysis
• Identify opportunities and deliver enhancements to Safety and/or Production
• Provide functional support to Offshore Operations/Maintenance Leads and Lead technicians.
• Provide technical support to a level of TA2 to the installations as directed by the Maintenance Manager
• Liaison with Government bodies when required (HSE/BAIS)
• Provide guidance and support to:
  • Maintenance, repair and replacement strategies for instrument and control systems, looking particularly at obsolescence.
  • Instrumentation and Control technical aspects of company Management of Engineering Change process
  • Instrument and Control technical considerations in ORAs and QRAs which may have an impact on safety.
  • Instrument Focal Point contact for 3rd party vendor support in relation to asset requirements.
  • Asset C&I Focal point for CAPEX related activities ensuring asset requirements are deliver value for asset. (for example PCS, F&G Upgrades)
  • Studies, technical reviews and deferral justification program for operational enhancements opportunities through reliability, availability improvements
• PCS Technical expertise -Provide expert advice within the field of equipment selection, Performance and Maintenance/Operational enhancements in consideration of obsolescence.
• Troubleshooting and technical resolution of complex plant instrument issues, liaising working collaboratively with offshore and onshore personnel.
• Develop scopes of work and the raising of POs for specialist activities to be executed by 3rd party contractors and vendors

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:

• Degree in Instrument discipline or relevant industry experience.
• Strong experience in Operations & Maintenance support role for an oil & gas Operator.
