Person specification

Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse
• Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
• Relevant clinical post registration course completed
• Graduate (degree/diploma with specialist expertise across a range of procedures

Desirable criteria

• Management qualification or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• Significant experience at Band 6 in a critical care setting
• Extensive experience within speciality
• Experience of leading and developing a team
• Knowledge of budget management

Desirable criteria

• Experience of being a Band 7 team leader

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

Essential criteria

• Organisational, administrative and management skills
• Teaching
• Ability to lead a team
• Ability to appraise staff
• Ability to perform clinical activities specific to speciality
• Knowledge of quality, standard setting, benchmarking and audit
