We are currently seeking A&E & emergency nurses to join our team. The opportunity has arisen for a B7 Senior Sister to join the team. Main duties of the job

  • To have overall responsibility for the operational activity on the shift, including proactive management of issues to support performance of the emergency department 4-hr operational standard.
  • To act as the professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the nursing team
  • To have shift responsibility for the management and organisation of the ward/department within the available resources.
  • To have shift responsibility for quality and safety
  • To be accountable for the overall provision of excellent nursing care and to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse (Adult)
  • Post-registration emergency nursing education (A&E Course, Acutely unwell Adult, Emergency Practice or Equivalent Experience)
  • Practice Assessor

Desirable criteria

  • Relevant Masters Degree
  • Leadership Training

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant post registration experience in emergency medicine at band 6 level

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of Audit or Research
  • Experience in critical care setting

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Organisation, administrative and management skills
  • Teaching
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to perform clinical activities specific to speciality
  • Knowledge of quality, standard setting, benchmarking and audit
