Job Description
We're recruiting for a Senior Channel Marketing Manager to join us. You will lead the expansion and professionalisation of L&G's private markets capabilities, playing a crucial role in expanding into new markets and channels to drive international commercial growth. You will also drive and support sustainable business growth in private markets, driving commercial outcomes aligned to commercial and distribution strategy.
You will achieve this by designing, overseeing and delivering a range of targeted, integrated marketing campaigns to support capital raising from third party investors across a range of institutional and wholesale (professional) client channels, as well as creating and supporting opportunities with public sector partners and potential co-investors. The role has a global mandate with an initial focus on the UK, EU and Asia.
In this role, you will lead, co-ordinate, and empower the 'virtual' private markets marketing team to implement a structured and commercially impactful marketing programme. This team is part of our existing Marketing Centres of Excellence, encompassing product marketing, brand, content, digital, events, and both external and internal communications.
What you'll be doing:
- Business partnership: Collaborating with the Head of Private Markets, Distribution, Investment, and Product teams to understand business priorities and promoting our private markets capabilities, contributing to strategic decision-making and providing overall marketing direction
- Fundraising support: Collaborating with and empowering distribution partners to drive fundraising efforts with institutional and wholesale investors, leveraging impactful and measurable marketing strategies
- Marketing delivery: Leading, managing, and coordinating the 'virtual' private markets marketing team (comprising product marketing, PR, brand, content, digital, events) to support the delivery of marketing campaigns and fundraising activity to drive client sales, retention, and increase brand profile.
- Sales enablement: Working with the content, product marketing, and distribution teams to manage and develop our product enablement material. Maintaining and updating brochures, presentations, and website content as required
- Thought leadership and fund communications: Empowering the virtual team to manage the thought leadership and fund update programme, including client webinars, articles, and emails
- KPIs and MI: Instilling a data-driven approach to marketing strategy, using insight and our scorecard methodology to ensure activation aligns to and supports commercial outcomes. Ensuring all activity has clear measurements and KPIs. Reporting and communicating on campaign results and learnings to foster a culture of continual improvement
- Marketing benchmarking: Proactively researching competitor campaigns, including trade press advertising and web activity, and recommending ideas and enhancements
- Materials governance: Observing good practice in relation to Treating Customers Fairly and ensuring promotions deliver Regulatory and Data Protection requirements. Ensuring compliance with all Consumer Duty accountabilities, including the responsibility to produce and maintain clear, fair, and non-misleading marketing collateral and client-facing material
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Strong expertise in developing integrated marketing strategies and knowledge of investment strategies and clients in private markets
- Knowledge of online and offline marketing activities and the application of digital marketing technology to drive customer acquisition and communication activities
- Awareness of the regulations and legislation governing promotion and advertising standards will also be important
- Strong understanding of the needs and behaviours of private markets clients across both third party investors and public sector partners
- Experience of developing and delivering impactful and measurable marketing programmes in private markets, demonstrating innovation and commercial awareness.
- Experience of managing marketing budgets and invoice management
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to analyse and assess the current market state, identify gaps, and develop plans for continuous improvement. Leading meetings, communicating succinctly with senior stakeholders, and influencing.
- Strong experience of leading and inspiring a 'virtual' team of x with marketing specialists from multiple functions: Content, Digital, PR, Events and Brands
