Job description
Full Time, Permanent

We are looking for a Chef to work in our prestigious Ashton Cafes in Ashton Court Estate to provide visitors with a great experience. Working in our Parks Catering team you'll have the opportunity to make a difference to someone's day, every day and come to work in some of the City's most beautiful parks.

This is a full time (37 hours per week), working daytime shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

With nine cafes & kiosks across the City, we not only provide food and drink to the thousands of visitors to our parks every year but also generate income to help fund the cost of maintaining Bristol's parks and green spaces.

We are focussed on increasing the income from our Parks Catering service and improving the experience customers can expect when they visit our cafes and kiosks. This won't be possible without having a great team of people and without great people to lead and inspire them.

As a chef you will work alongside our Lead Chef at Courtyard Café providing café-style food in a fast-paced environment. This position would suit a candidate who is working at Chef-de Partie level, or has similar experience of working to deliver an a-la-carte menu for at least one year.

To be successful you will need:

  • Level 2 Food safety certificates or be willing to work towards them when you join us
  • A good understanding of allergens, food safety and Health & Safety at work
  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen
  • Good ability to work quickly and cope with the pressure of a busy service
  • The ability to work using your initiative.
  • The ability to respond well to instructions and work within a team

You'll be working various daytime shifts (usually between 8.30 and 16.30), including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. You will be based at the Courtyard café at Ashton Court Estate for the majority of your time; however, you could be required to work at other locations across the city which could include Golf Cafe and Blaise Castle Estate.

Car parking is available at most of our sites. Uniform is provided. A meal is provided on duty.
