Senior Case Officer - Appointeeship & Deputyship

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a new Senior Case Officer to oversee the day-to-day running of the team.

About The Role

The Appointeeship & Deputyship team provide a money management service for Adult Social Care service users in Leicestershire who lack mental capacity to manage their own affairs independently. The team is very busy with a high volume of work and frequent deadlines.

The role will include;

  • The assignment of workload and associated work activities to the relevant Case Officers and ensure they are coordinated to achieve an effective, efficient, and timely service.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Appointeeship & Deputyship team and provide guidance on operational matters, including recruitment, deployment, development, supervision, attendance, and conduct.
  • Carry out regular supervision and annual appraisal of designated staff. Effectively monitor performance to ensure compliance with agreed targets/standards, statutory requirements, policies, and key performance indicators.
  • Provide advice and guidance to team members, and other Department staff members in relation to complex cases.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of, or ability in:

  • Identifying and implementing policy and/or process changes.
  • Working as part of a team and alone without direct supervision.
  • Dealing directly with vulnerable adults, their advocates, and the public.
  • Extensive, up to date knowledge of current legislation in relation to Appointeeship & Deputyship and associated guidance, and its application in established policy and practice.
  • The ability to take supervisory responsibility for service delivery, staff, and resources.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in writing and converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
