Senior Career Pathway Consultant

AWE is looking for a Senior Career Pathway Consultant to join our HR function.

As a Senior Career Pathway Consultant, you will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing our career pathway initiative to achieve our business objectives. This role requires an expert who is strategic, proactive and highly specialised and can engage and influence at all levels of the organisation. This role will specifically be concentrating on the build of internal career pathways.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke area

Package - £45,250 - £57,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What will you be required to do?

  • Lead on and provide expert knowledge and skills in the building of career pathways across multiple functions
  • Work with the talent team to identify trends, carry out organisation wide research and scoping to build robust career pathways
  • Work with a range of HR colleagues such as HRBPs and business stakeholders to ensure the career pathways are built and applied consistently across the business
  • Proactively work with colleagues in the functions to embed career pathways
  • Increase leadership capability and growth mindset through use of career pathways as a development channel
  • Lead on and work with internal/external teams building a host platform
  • Lead on the development and design of robust career pathways
  • Assess and identify gaps and create plans to address them
  • Support the business in aligning career pathways initiatives with business objectives
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees on professional development opportunities through career pathways
  • Proactively identify learning needs across the organisation and create plans to address them
  • Assess the effectiveness of the career pathways and make recommendations for improvement
  • Stay current with best practices in talent management and development and make recommendations for changes where appropriate

  • Knowledge or Excel, Word and PowerPoint (as well as other MS Office tools)
  • Experience of building career pathways
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working in a defence or government organisation preferred

Closing date - 11/6/24

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
