Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Gloucestershire Managed Services in the Strategic Asset Services Capital Team for a Senior Capital Project Manager to join our team.

The post holder will take the lead role on major capital projects from conception to commissioning and post project evaluation, including planning, managing, appointing and managing external contractors, and facilitating and monitoring the progress of specific major projects across sites to ensure they are delivered in an efficient manner, to an agreed timeframe and within approved financial limits.

This role will be an integral part of the GMS Strategic Asset Services - Capital Asset Management team and services the department provides.

The Senior Capital Project Manager will cross site work across Cheltenham & Gloucester but will work in all areas of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT

Main duties of the job

The post is responsible for the delivery and development of high-quality project and professional services achieved through the engagement of the workforce, customers and other stakeholders.

Ensuring effective leadership and management of the Capital Asset Management team on a day-to-day basis ensuring provision of appropriate, effective high quality service delivery in accordance with defined requirements and supporting their ongoing development.The postholder will be required to follow Gloucester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, GMS and other healthcare provider's policies and procedures and participate in audits from internal and external sources.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Membership of professional body/bodies e.g CIOB, RICS, RIBA, CIBSE,IWFM(BIFM), IHEEM,
  • Project management qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of substantial experience in a relevant field e.g. surveying, construction or engineering
  • Clear evidence of continual professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of establishing a team/delivery model in a projects environment
  • Team leadership experience
  • Experience in delivering high quality customer service (preferably in an estate or facilities environment)
  • Ownership of own budget and an ability to deliver services within the defined envelope
  • Leadership experience and accountability for performance management
  • To have experience in supervising the work of others and in providing training to colleagues.
  • Actively contributing to service development and improvement
  • Experience of writing and reviewing policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Experience of implementation and accountability for policies and procedures within own areas of responsibilities.
