Senior Campaigns Manager - Ebury Spotlight

Are you a pop culture and entertainment enthusiast? Are you an experienced and skilled publicity professional looking for a new, exciting challenge?

We are looking for a Senior Campaigns Manager to work across lead entertainment books in Ebury's Spotlight Hub, managing and implementing high profile publicity campaigns and working with top talent to drive book sales and help generate bestsellers.

About the team

Ebury Spotlight is the home of Ebury's entertainment publishing. Ebury is the UK's largest dedicated non-fiction publisher, and the focus at Ebury Spotlight is to find the brightest talent and create standout, must-have books of the moment. From autobiography and memoir to television, sport, music and comedy, we are proud to be one of the UK's most successful teams dedicated to publishing pop culture books for everyone. We're a small team with an entrepreneurial and start-up mentality who are in a period of consistent growth and are at the forefront of entertainment publishing in the UK trade market. Our authors include Greg James, Tom Felton, Molly-Mae Hague, Ted the Dog, Paloma Faith, Louise Thompson, Kevin Rowland, Mo Gilligan, Jess and Norma, Sir Mark Cavendish, Sir Geoff Hurst and many more.

The role

This is a vital and important role for the Spotlight team. Reporting into the Head of Campaigns for the Spotlight hub, the ideal candidate will be adaptable, organised and strategic, with a keen interest in entertainment and culture.

We are looking for someone who can develop and implement creative, sales-driving, audience-first publicity campaigns. You will be a pivotal member of the team, working collaboratively with marketing and editorial colleagues on campaigns, bringing your knowledge of the publicity landscape to help inform and mentor other publicity colleagues, and giving regular updates and feedback to other key stakeholders.

You will have a strong list of media contacts and connections and will continue to work to build the hub's network in the entertainment space. You will have a part to play in every stage of the publishing process, from trend spotting and idea generation, pitches, acquisitions, campaign strategy, media meetings and author/agent meetings to publicity junkets, book tours, author events and much more. As part of the role there will be some UK travel and out of hours work (we offer time in lieu for weekend work).

You will join a strong and supportive team, where no two days are the same, offering many opportunities to meet interesting people and have unique and exciting experiences.

Key responsibilities:

What you'll bring

You may be a campaigns or publicity manager looking for a step up, or a senior publicist looking to work across higher profile campaigns. You don't need to have worked in publishing before but a passion for entertainment is essential. We are looking for:

  • Several years of experience working on publicity campaigns.
  • A keen interest in the entertainment industry - experience working with talent is strongly desired.
  • A keen interest in and a finger on the pulse of the changing media landscape.
  • An ability to understand and analyse the publishing market and a willingness to adapt and evolve campaigns as things change.
  • A dynamic and unflappable attitude in busy periods.
  • A motivated self-starter who can work independently and manage several campaigns at once.
  • Confident communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A commitment to building strong working relationships with authors and agents and providing a high level of author care.
  • A trusted partner for other internal teams and stakeholders including Marketing, Editorial, Sales, Rights, Production and International.
