Job Description

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for motorsport or high-performance engineering? Do you thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments? We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Direct Procurement Team and help drive the success of our world-class race team.

As a Senior Buyer, your key responsibilities will be:

• Supplier Management: Oversee and develop a portfolio of suppliers, focusing on both tactical and strategic aspects to ensure optimal value delivery.
• Expediting Deliveries: Track and report on the timely delivery of parts, ensuring all outstanding orders are processed and communicated effectively to internal stakeholders.
• Transactional Procurement: Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery in alignment with quality standards.
• Team Support: Provide guidance and support to the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best value contracts for the business, balancing cost, quality, and lead time.
• Supplier Rationalisation: Rationalise and optimise the supplier base to ensure the most competitive and reliable suppliers are used.
• Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead procurement initiatives across internal teams, using expertise and influencing skills to support key business objectives.

We are looking for a Senior Buyer with the following experience and skills:

• Proven Procurement Experience: Experience in a fast-paced, changing engineering environment is essential.
• Motorsport or Automotive Background: Experience in composite procurement within motorsport or automotive sectors is desirable but not essential.
• At least 5 years' Procurement Experience: Supported by a CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Strong Relationship-Building Skills: Ability to foster relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
• Ability to Prioritise: Capable of reacting quickly and prioritising urgent operational needs.
• Strong Communication and Negotiation Skills: Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are critical.
• Highly Proactive: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to take initiative.
• Adaptable: Flexible in working hours to meet the needs of the business and changing work demands.
• Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
