Senior Buyer - Exeter

Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to work with a large civil engineering specialist from a regional office covering projects across the South of England.

The ideal candidate for this role would be an individual who is able to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the buying function, all in line with company policy. Ideally some experience as a subcontractor and exposure to work in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, rail, power etc.

Responsibilities:

• Working in line with company Procurement processes.
• Arranging and leading meetings between suppliers and subcontractors.
• Developing tender and project procurement strategies with the project team.
• Identifying and minimising any potential risks.
• Working in line with company policies and procedures.
• Leading negotiations with supply chain.
• Creating bid lists and carrying out due diligence for subcontractors.

Experience/Qualifications:

• CIPS qualification (completed or in-study).
• Proven knowledge of Civils/Construction and Procurement experience (minimum 3 years).
• Subcontract knowledge of various forms of contract.
• In-depth knowledge of trades and materials in Civil Engineering.
