We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Buyer to join our dynamic Procurement and Supply Chain Management team, supporting the Sizewell C contract. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable energy by managing end-to-end procurement activities for subcontracts, materials, plant, and equipment. The role will primarily be based at our office close to St Pauls but will also involve visits to the project site. Join us and be a part of a project that will define the UK's energy landscape.
What You'll Do:
End-to-End Procurement: Lead the procurement process from strategy development to contract awards, ensuring optimal value for money and supporting contract and business objectives.
Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong, performance-led relationships with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement and fostering collaboration.
Data-Driven Decisions: Utilise e-procurement portal to manage sourcing plans, evaluate tender responses, and compile award recommendations.
Financial Acumen: Maximize margin improvement opportunities, tracking and reporting on cost savings and cost avoidance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless supply chain integration and address any supply issues promptly.
Continuous Improvement: Mentor and guide procurement team members, promoting best practices and contributing to the development of a high-performing team.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Proven experience in end-to-end procurement projects, with knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle R12) and Jaggaer e-procurement platforms being advantageous.
Skills: Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex deals and deliver value. Robust problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset are essential.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance pragmatic approaches with disciplined process compliance. Experience in Category Management, SRM, and SPM is desirable.
Leadership: Demonstrated capability to influence and drive performance in cross-functional teams, while maintaining a relentless focus on Zero Harm and sustainability goals.
