We are recruiting a Senior Business Support Officer to join our dedicated team within Children's Services. This is a key role providing high-quality business support with a particular emphasis on minute-taking for complex meetings, including Child Protection Conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely minutes for multi-agency meetings, ensuring sensitive information is recorded with clarity and precision.
  • Supervise and support Business Support staff, contributing to recruitment, performance management, and day-to-day coordination.
  • Maintain and develop information systems to support service delivery.
  • Manage diaries, arrange meetings and events, and ensure the production of quality documents.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including professionals and families.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in minute-taking for complex and sensitive meetings.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and producing professional documentation.
  • A calm, professional manner and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
