Senior Business Support Officer

Environmental Regulatory Services (ERS) are seeking to recruit a Senior Business Support Officer to join our fast paced and challenging administration team. Managing customer enquiries predominantly relating to Pest Control and often of a complex nature, via both telephone and email is the crux of this role. There will be opportunities to work with both internal and external stakeholders, at a variety of levels, in this highly regulated field. This is a full time, permanent position.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and a team player with exceptional communication and customer care skills. You will be motivated and able to prioritise within a busy workload to meet deadlines alongside possessing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will manage a high volume of sometimes sensitive information, inputting and processing information for use by internal and external customers. You will be confident to manage data, technical information and able to use bespoke IT packages, as well as applications such as Word and Excel.

We are based in the City Centre (Howden House) working on a hybrid model. Office attendance is required on a weekly basis, as well as for training, meetings and to meet service needs.

An interest in Environmental Health is desirable as you will work closely with Officers and support the delivery of these services for Sheffield.

The work of the wider team is interesting and dynamic covering Food Hygiene, Infectious Diseases, Noise Pollution, Animal-related Nuisance, Fly Tipping, Pest Control, Health & Safety, Trading Standards and Licensing matters.

The team is part of a large Hub that brings together a number of customer facing administration and technical processing teams including Planning and Building Control, Parking, Licensing, and Environmental and Regulatory services.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
