The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a Faculty of King's College London and the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease.
The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) is one of three schools under the IoPPN, comprised of the four departments of Psychology: Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry; Health Service & Population Research; and Biostatistics & Health Informatics. With over 100 Principal Investigators, our research spans development from childhood to old age, encompassing basic research through to the development and implementation of treatments, services and policy.

The role is based within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS).
This role is at the heart of our school's operations, supporting key areas including space management, education administration, and people-focused initiatives. You'll work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the Faculty, playing a pivotal role in optimising resources, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and driving process improvements.
We're looking for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You should be confident working independently, building relationships across departments, and taking ownership of key operational processes.

About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Strong knowledge and experience of space planning, analysis, usage and management. Working with multiple stakeholders to manage space requirements across the school.
2. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, including overseeing performance, behaviour, and professional development.
3. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of health and safety management, including conducting risk assessments, health and safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
6. Proficient in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook), and capable of adapting to new technologies.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in managing operational tasks, such as space allocation, asset management, and data analysis.
8. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment, aligned with principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working in higher education or a similar environment, with knowledge of sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
2. Previous experience in managing operational projects, including implementing process improvements and managing change effectively.
3. Trained to IoSH or NEBOSH level or willing to undertake training if required.
