Key Responsibilities

This role will be at the vanguard of launching our latest product - Lexology Compete. You will be responsible for finding, nurturing and closing new business prospects. You will use your relationship management and negotiation skills to grow your client base by approaching new clients, planning and preparing presentations and communicating our product offering. You will also be required to undertake some renewals and managing clients throughout their annual life-cycle.

  • Develop strong relationships with customers to win new business, upsell existing business, and ensure renewals are completed.
  • Develop and implement plans to maximise new business opportunities by developing sales campaigns to consistently achieve your revenue targets.
  • Review and monitor pricing recommending changes as necessary.
  • Manage a team within the department, including overseeing their workloads, planning the team's development, assess training needs and all line management responsibilities.
  • Line manager and support junior members of the team, coaching and mentoring them when needed and taking an active role in their personal development within LBR.
  • Support your team members to manage client renewals throughout the renewal cycle.
  • Develop strong cross-organisational relationships with key stakeholders (editorial, content dev, marketing etc.)
  • Develop in-depth market and sector knowledge of clients and competitors that is shared within the company to enhance client experience and product development.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate new product developments, obtaining client feedback.
  • Manage the creation of proposals and development of marketing literature for new products.
  • Update the CRM to ensure the CRM accurately reflects your sales activity through the buying stage to move Leads and Opportunities to Closed Won or Closed Lost status.
  • Ensure your clients have signed contract and orders are processed in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, in particular a highly professional telephone manner
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets
  • International outlook
  • Knowledge of the legal sector or professional services is desirable
  • Ability to work to targets and showcase resilience in challenging situations

Team Management:

  • Experience of mentoring or coaching a junior sales team members
  • Ability to self-motivate and motivate others in a target driven environment
