The service you will work in....

Hestia's innovative & high-performing Business Development Team are responsible for securing funding to meet the organisation's ambitious growth targets. The team achieve this through competitive tendering, writing & presenting proposals, relationship-building with sectoral partners, and capitalising upon Hestia's wide-ranging expertise and presence across London and the Southeast.

A day in this role looks like....

As a senior Business Development Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our central services . Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Lead and support the creation of high-quality bids and funding applications, including finalising technical questions and method statements.
  • Manage the administrative components of the tendering process.
  • Conduct research to identify income opportunities.
  • Build and maintain networks with local health & social care partners.
  • Stay informed about procurement practices and commissioning trends in London and nationally.
  • Contribute to the shaping of Hestia's development strategy by identifying growth opportunities.
  • Participate in events to position Hestia as a thought leaders in relevant sectors.
  • Assist with the mobilisation of successful tenders, ensuring a smooth transition from award to contract initiation.
  • Evaluate bids to improve future submissions and seek feedback on both successful and unsuccessful proposals.
  • Attend meetings with Commissioners to foster relationships.
  • Aid in the re-development of existing services to secure additional funding and/or efficiencies.
  • Engage in tender presentations and clarification interviews as needed.
  • Form partnerships and consortia to explore alternative service delivery methods.
  • Support the retention of services by contributing to operational improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with operations staff to optimise staffing structures and service delivery models for the best service user outcomes.
  • Identify personal training and development needs and arrange visits to key services.
  • Act as an ambassador for Hestia, representing the organisation's interests with stakeholders.
  • Share best practice, insight and expertise with the wider business development team.

  • Experience of working in a team, providing appropriate professional technical advice and expertise to take projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience of preparing reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Forward thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct research to identify income opportunities
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships & networks with health & social care partners.
  • Understanding of NHS and Local Authority procurement practices, tendering process and commissioning trends.
  • Knowledge of the Adult Social Care sector, models of support and funding initiatives.
  • Ability to seek constructive feedback from commissioners on both successful and unsuccessful proposals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations staff to optimise staffing structures and service delivery models for the best service user outcomes.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to work cohesively with senior internal & external partners, displaying confidence, and gaining trust.
  • Ability to link organisational objectives to project outcomes.
  • Strong bid writing, funding application and evaluation experience
  • Experience or understanding of collaborative external partnership working.
