WhatYou'llDo

As part of our Product team in Digital and Customer Services,you'lllead andassistmultidisciplinary teams toidentifyproblems in services and products, before designing and implementingappropriate solutions(both through in-house development and third-party suppliers).

Our current workstreams include:

  • improving our social housing repairs journey
  • redesigning our resident-facing website from scratch
  • creating a user-focussed intranet for staff
  • helping waste collection teams manage their work
  • helping residents find support services via our community directory
  • improving the journey for adult social care users

You'llwork closely with council service teams to help them understand their products,servicesand data.You'lltranslate users' pain points and stakeholder priorities into clearly defined problems to solve.You'llanalyse what you discover and articulate the findings into recommendations, products and outcomes that deliver better services for residents and staff alike.

You'llbe able to visualise service journeys, and map current and future state processes.You'lluse data to quantify problems and model the impact they have on residents and the council.You'lluse these skills to project the benefits and rationale for investing in new processes or technology, helping teams to prioritise the areas where they can have the greatest impact.

You'llreport to the Product Lead and play an active role in the Business Analysis Community of Practice, including by line managing and developing one or more Business Analysts.You'llalso work closely with other disciplines to develop product practices and codify ways of working in our new and growing team.

Who You Are

You'll have experience leading work in multi-disciplinary teams and taking responsibility for the analysis throughout the product and service transformation lifecycles. You will be an analytical, user centered, data driven individual who has the eagerness to understand the root cause of issues, document and communicate them, and source appropriate solutions .

You'llhave deep knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques, usingappropriate applicationsto synthesise information and evidence. You must also be able to use analysis methods to develop actionable insights that allow you to spot opportunities for service improvement and/or product development.

You'llideally have knowledge of modellingand measuringthe financial and non-financial impact of products,servicesand proposed changes throughout project lifecycle.You be able tomonitorthe outcomes of products or change programmes after they go live, to enable teams to iterate and improve on whatthey'vedelivered.

You'llbe passionate about developing your skills and supporting others in the team.You'llbe a supportive coach to your line reports, who takes a keen interest in their development and career pathway.

Step 3 - Attend the panel interview.This will usually be a 1-hour video call with up to 3 people like the hiring manager and other team members you would work with.

We'llask you to do your presentation at the start of the interview.We are keen to ensure that the video interview processdoesn'tinterfere with your ability to present your work to its best effect.Your presentation can be talking direct to camera, slides, a PDF, or similar, and could include visual examples of your work. The panel will then ask you follow up questions.

The panel will then ask a set of questions which will also have been sent to you in advance.

This will give you the chance to think about your answers in depth and be able to talk with confidence.The questions will give you an opportunity to show how you meet the essential criteria of the job description.
