LOCATION

This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Digital Business Analyst to define and capture business requirements and user stories related to the ongoing development of ghdhair.com website. Reporting into the Technical Delivery Manager (TDM), the role is hands on working in conjunction with the subject matter experts, product owner/managers and will be responsible for managing and delivering functional, as well as non-functional, requirements across front-end and back-end website processes whilst also supporting the QA function.

The role's mission is all about detail - taking the blue sky thinking of our internal stakeholders and translating those requirements effectively into best practice workable solutions whilst continually looking for improvement opportunities to streamline processes both current and future state.

You will need to foster collaborative ways of working with the product owner, digital operations team, the wider IT development team and external providers. You must be an excellent communicator, understand standard ecommerce functions and web-based user interfaces, have experience of systems integration with internal and 3rd party systems, and be able to translate required business process capabilities and outcomes effectively.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own requirements gathering and analysis for the digital ecommerce team from all stakeholders
  • Communicating and translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Own and ensure requirements are documented to a level where they can be handed to development teams for development
  • Produce conceptual high-level designs that are aligned to business processes
  • Define functional specifications including creation of user stories and following Change Request processes
  • Work closely with technical teams, QA, project and product managers
  • Support User Acceptance Testing
  • Plan and organise own and junior workloads whilst providing mentorship and guidance to other BAs
  • Maintain ownership of the functional and non-functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle process
  • Support the Technical Delivery Manager to manage the development backlog
  • Supervise and lead direct reports and ensure direct reports are accountable for their deliverables
  • Align with ghd performance process to ensure goals are reviewed and set with direct reports in line with ghd schedule
  • Review and manage direct report holiday requests as appropriate
  • Mentor and support the team and direct report to deliver best-in-class execution of team deliverables

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum three years working with an online commerce platform
  • Analytical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities who can collaborate with the company Digital, PMO, product and business stakeholders to clearly define, document and communicate requirements
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycle and experience in successfully delivering IT projects from inception to delivery
  • Operational background in a multi-national, multi-channel business in a manufacturing, FMCG or similar organisation
  • End to end experience across eCommerce, Commercial and Customer Service, with a solid understanding of B2B and B2C processes together with the financial relationships relating to each function
  • Agile development environments, Scrum or Kanban
  • Solid knowledge of interfaces and interactions between core internal applications (eCommerce Platform & ERP) and external partners (EDI, web services)
  • Solid experience of defining and documenting processes, identifying gaps and proposing improvements in line with business strategy
  • Practical experience of working with multiple technology platforms and applications with a broad spectrum of knowledge across projects, solutions and services
  • Experienced in sustaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders and the Development Team
  • Solid experience of best practice methodology in solution and service delivery and in project management, using both waterfall & agile methodologies
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a pragmatic, hands-on approach, with the ability to understand the bigger picture
  • Ability to work autonomously and to work within challenging deadlines
  • Excellent team and management skills
  • Ideally ISEB/BCS qualified, with ITIL and/or Prince2 Foundation or similar

Desirable:

A strong understanding of applications/concepts such as:

  • SAP Commerce Cloud
  • Headless storefronts
  • Payment gateways
  • CMS systems
  • CRM platforms
