We are currently seeking an analyst for Avison Young's Market Intelligence team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of analysis, insight and thought leadership across the sector. The Market Intelligence team provide high quality analysis and advice on the UK property market and its drivers. Our market analysis and innovative topic pieces explore where change is occurring, helping us to inform our clients, raise Avison Young's profile and drive industry debate.

Working under supervision, you will be responsible for working with the Sector Lead, as well as the wider Market Intelligence team, in developing and implementing a program of thought leadership, insight and analysis which will position Avison Young as expert commentators on all aspects of the UK's commercial property market which includes the industrial, hotel, office and retail sectors. This position will leverage your interpersonal and technical skillsets along with your real estate expertise and knowledge to deliver data-driven market insights.

The role will sit within Market Intelligence but will work closely with other teams across the business, principally the relevant Agency & Investment teams. The successful candidate will need to gain a good understanding of our business and build relationships across key teams and clients. Our culture is highly professional. Responsibilities

The individual will support research initiatives for the UK to support the business. Working with the sector lead and relevant stakeholders, the individual will be involved in client pursuits, market commentary and analysis and contributing to the thought leadership agenda. The individual will also be responsible for supporting on pitches and presentations. The role will require regular interaction with clients and business stakeholders and the individual will be looking to raise their profile both internally and externally. They will also have responsibility for overseeing relevant data management activities and integrity within the UK.

  • Responsible for analysing and delivering insight and analysis on the trends impacting clients' business and their real estate, focusing on the core property sectors and relevant key drivers
  • Working closely with the Market Intelligence team leader, key stakeholders and other sector and business line specialists, to support on the development of a programme of market analysis and thought leadership outputs that supports the wider business and its aims, at a local, national and global scale
  • Working with relevant teams, develop an innate understanding and expert use of our proprietary digital data analytics tools for the benefit of our clients
  • Develop a suite of sector specific outputs including commentary, pitch/proposal materials and presentation suites
  • Identify and comment on key trends that contribute to the wider insight agenda that encourage collaboration across a number of sectors
  • Oversee and drive analysis of related and appropriate managed data
  • Continue to build and promote the company's voice on key real estate issues
  • Pursue a programme of continued self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars and participation in continuing education

Qualifications

This role will require someone who is innovative, confident, and adaptable. The successful candidate should possess:

  • 1+ year experience in commercial real estate
  • Passionate about cities and real estate, takes a keen interest in industry trends
  • Dedicated to data as an art and science
  • Strong Microsoft excel skills preferred
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data, identify trends and generate insights
  • Good presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Communicate findings clearly and concisely with teammates, stakeholders and clients
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Highly strategic and organised individual with strong attention to detail
  • Team player and adaptable to fast-paced and quickly changing environments and work priorities
  • Highly creative with ability to identify and solve problems efficiently
