Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

Job overview

We wish to appoint an experienced, motivated Senior Biomedical Scientist, with the necessary knowledge and skills in Biochemistry to join our team at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

The successful candidate will be able to focus on quality and service provision and will have interpersonal skills to lead the team as you achieve change and improvement by working with our established Blood Sciences site management team.

  • Specialist portfolio
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Evidence of working as part of a multidisiplinary team
  • Good technical, quality and safety knowledge
  • Evidence of ability to organise workload to meet deadlines and clinical priorities
  • Evidence of good communication skills

  • Evidence of implementing a new process
  • Evidence of teaching and coaching
  • Evidence of participation in quality assessments and accreditation visits
  • Evidence of staff management

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Good, up to date knowledge of laboratory services relevant to a named blood sciences specialty.
  • Knowledge & Experience of a wider Blood Sciences Service
  • Evidence of involvement with service development
  • Clinical laboratory post-registration experience
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering quality led laboratory services

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of managing a laboratory or sections within a laboratory
  • Ability to speak Welsh
