Senior Billing Analyst

The Opportunity:

The Senior Billing Analyst is part of the UK-based global Working Capital team. The role leads and manages complex client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance and acts as a senior contact for billing queries, providing guidance and support to colleagues.

The role holder will oversee timely completion of billing requests and month-end activities using firm systems, supports process improvements and mentors junior team members.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Oversee the preparation of draft bills, including supporting documentation (e.g. detailed time summaries, disbursement schedules) and final invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and process bill cancellations and Credit Notes, acting as a point of escalation for complex or high-value matters.
  • Lead monthly bill runs for specific clients, managing adherence to complex client requirements and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Liaise with partners and associates regarding unbilled/billed fee enquiries, providing expert advice and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the billing team, providing training, guidance, and acting as a first point of contact for technical queries.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience working in a law firm or partnership environment, with a strong understanding of finance/legal billing processes.
  • Strong understanding of client needs, with the ability to manage complex billing requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility as required to perform the role.
  • Highly organised and methodical approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a confident telephone manner and the ability to be tactful and diplomatic in pressurised situations.
