Company Description

Legal & General is one of Europe's largest asset managers, providing clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, across public and private markets. As a global investor, we are present where our clients most need us - from Hong Kong and Singapore, to Chicago and major European financial hubs.

Created by combining our investment management (LGIM) and asset origination (LGC) capabilities, our Asset Management division works with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers - which include individual savers, pension scheme members and global institutions - and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.

Joining us means becoming part of a market-leading team, with capabilities across the full spectrum of asset classes, with an enduring commitment to responsible investment and creating long-term, sustainable value for our clients and partners.

Job Description

We're recruiting for a Senior Bid Manager to join our market leading DC team. This key role involves managing proposals for new and existing clients, ensuring submissions are compelling, accurate, and timely. You will also handle follow-up questions, support pitches and site visits, and manage other new business processes.

Additionally, you will implement strategic peer reviews to improve outward-facing communications and lead projects to make efficiencies in the Client Acquisition Support team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the full process of creating and executing proposals for both new and existing clients, handle follow-up questions, and complete EBC/publication surveys. For larger projects, focussing on strategic pursuits
  • Implementing strategic peer reviews for team members, pushing responses beyond the ordinary. Encouraging a transformation from good answers to exceptional ones by thorough and thoughtful challenges
  • Regularly evaluating written materials to enhance outward-facing communications. Collaborating with the Content Manager to keep the central repository and standard proposal documents current. This involves conducting post-RFP reviews and updating the repository with new or revised content
  • Assisting pitch teams in preparing for client presentations and site visits
  • Handling and implementing client pricing requests, including following up with non-strategic accounts
  • Overseeing daily task distribution, providing training to the team when necessary, and arranging and leading team meetings
  • Collaborating with the Head of Client Acquisition Support on strategic planning for the team, taking charge of process improvement initiatives to maintain high standards in service delivery, and creating new materials to fill existing gaps
  • Fostering connections within the company and externally with a broad network of both investment and non-investment experts
  • Ensuring all communications are clear, compliant with the principles of 'Treating Customers Fairly', not misleading and fully compliant with any other relevant industry/government rules, guidance and regulations

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to create compelling communications
  • Experience of either pensions administration, investment management and or RFP/bid writing is essential
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships across the business and external stakeholders
  • Experience of leading successful strategic projects
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team in a deadline driven, dynamic environment
  • People management/workflow co-ordination preferable
  • Ability to critique and give constructive feedback on the work of colleagues
  • A strong understanding of industry trends and market competitors

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Private medical insurance (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years' service. There's also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice
  • There are the many discounts we offer - both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart
