The Platform Engineering capability within Digital is a growing team of people dedicated to ensuring that the technologies selected and the way that they are implemented meet the business objectives of our clients. There are several disciplines within the Digital Customer Experience team: delivery, business, integration and digital architects and technical managers, and many of our people can perform in more than one of these roles.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

•You'll undertake cross-functional engineering projects, working in small teams with other Engineers in different knowledge spheres, building supportable, sustainable and reliable services.

•You’ll work with great technology – many of our clients have an IT strategy based on user centric design, modern open-source technology, continuous integration/delivery and modern software architectures such as microservices and cloud technology to name but a few.

•You’ll help us achieve our vision – the chance to make a real difference at the heart of the digital transformation within the public & private sector.

•You’ll get opportunities to develop and progress – working on large scale, technically challenging projects. You will be constantly learning through modern learning environments.

•Knowledge of working in continuous Integration systems such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, Github Actions or similar and Infrastructure-as-code technologies, such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, or Bicep.

Your skills and experience

• Experience debugging & management of complex Azure environments, with a sound knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, monitoring tooling such as Datadog, and using infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform or Bicep.

• Responsible for technical ownership in a project, also providing leadership & mentoring to more junior members in an Agile or DevOps team

• Actively working with our clients on digital IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solution strategies, designs, and delivery programmes, transforming their business by delivering solutions and methodologies following best practice.

• Implementation and maintenance of platforms and services based on the business requirements, constraints and strategies. Have experience of creating, maintaining and enhancing standards for delivery for business functionality, as well as developing, maintaining, and enhancing design standards and patterns for infrastructure and system components.

• Applying technical innovation with contribution towards internal projects, excellence in our operational activities, and client bids to win new business.

Your security clearance

Security Check (SC) Clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
